THE NCISS DISASTER RELIEF FUND

 

The NCISS Disaster Relief Fund and corresponding committee was created in 2021 in response to multiple natural disasters that were occurring across the country such as hurricanes, fires, and floods. The committee met in September 2021 and developed a proposal that was voted on and adopted by the Board.

 

NCISS Disaster Relief Fund is supported by individual voluntary donations. The fund is open for contributions from members and non-members. Funds will be available for members in good standing that complete a request for assistance and pending the approval of the committee members and Board.

Criteria for awarding funds:


  • Disaster relief is available for members in good standing
  • Award of funds will be to those who demonstrate a personal loss due to unforeseen circumstances and not limited to "natural disasters" but open to any member in crisis.
  • Consideration and/or the amount provided will depend on the circumstances.
  • Committee turnaround for all requests not to exceed 3 days to be referred to the Board.
  • Confidentiality maintained within the committee and the Executive Director unless the individual wants their situation publicized.
  • The name of the requestor will not be revealed to the Board, only the circumstances of the situation will be revealed for consideration.
  • Fund dispersal will be determined on individual basis.
